Luxury 4-bedroom villa on the seafront, Ponta do Sol, Madeira

On the southwest coast of Madeira, in Lugar de Baixo, this four-bedroom villa sits right on the water’s edge, with the Atlantic opening up in front and nothing in between. It offers 462 sqm of gross area and 290 sqm of usable space on a 1,520 sqm plot, and the whole house is built around one simple idea: bring the sea inside.

The architecture is contemporary and clean-lined, with floor-to-ceiling glazing that dissolves the line between indoors and out. The open-plan living and dining room opens straight onto the terraces, and natural light carries through the house all day. The kitchen breaks from the expected, with deep blue cabinetry that gives it character without giving up function.

The four bedrooms are generous, with wood floors and a neutral palette, and some open directly to the outside, facing the sea. In total, the house has five bathrooms.

Outside is what makes this property rare. Wide terraces, a garden, and a pool designed to blur into the horizon. A private jacuzzi and a private sauna complete a wellness side built to be used every day, not just on occasion. Garage included. Energy rating A.

Ponta do Sol is one of the island’s most sought-after areas, prized for its mild climate almost year round and its calm. It works equally as a permanent home, a holiday house, or an investment. Get in touch to arrange a viewing.
